Toronto Star: Canada and G20 should cut handouts to fossil fuel industry

Why do Canada and other countries continue to plow public money into propping up the oil, gas and coal industries that fuel global warming, when investing in conservation and renewable energy is the way to tackle climate change?

Uncomfortable as the question is, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ought to put it squarely to his fellow Group of 20 leaders at this weekend’s summit meeting in Turkey.
